Hello everybody,
I live in Perth and I've come for some help. It's with great regret that I need to re-home one of my rabbits and his name is Jet. He's neutered and is about 2 - 3 years old.
He's a gorgeous lop and he does have a lovely nature, but he is shy until he gets used to you and will eat pellets out of your hands when he's comfortable with you. He doesn't like being pick up very much though, but he does love a good rub and scratch on the head. He adores ice blocks next to him when it's really hot and I keep him inside when it's really horrible outside.
The reason why I need to re-home my boy, is because I had been trying to bond him with my girl rabbit for about 2 months, but it's not working. I made my heart breaking decision when Bellina (my girl) ripped into him and gave him a war wound on one of his ears and in turn, he made her scream (it was horrific to say the least). It's a fresh wound but I'm sure it will heal well and I doubt you'll see much of a scar when it does heal. Please note that his ear is NOT ripped, she just scratched it enough for a little blood to come out.
Please understand I did everything in my power (heaps of info from the internet and real people, many very experienced with rabbits) to successfully bond my rabbits so I'm not asking for further help on bonding... I'd just rather re-home him with a very loving family without other rabbits. This isn't a decision I made over-night either, so I'm certainly NOT trying to just dump him on anybody.
If anybody can help, please let me know... and I can send you photos of Jet. You'll also have to tell me a little about yourself etc. I don't think it's a good idea if you have small children, as he's used to adults around.
Because I love Jet so very much, I will take my time with finding the right person / family and I don't mind if it takes months. I don't want anybody to be offended if your situation doesn't sound right to me, I'm just thinking of my beautiful boy and where to best re-home him.
My email addy is ziapurple@hotmail.com
Many thanks for reading.
