Hi bunny lovers!
I have just got my first rabbit, Winter (a dwarf lop X)
She is the most adorable little thing I've ever seen and both my partner and I love her already ❤️
We also have a cat Izzy (who is deaf and terribly afraid of other cats) who seems to be getting along with her great which is just awesome! We are so glad Izzy seems to have finally found a friend.
Either myself or my partner is home most of the time, so Bunny usually gets to come inside and have free roam of most of the house (all the safe and bunny proofed places at least 🙂) and has a pretty big 2 story hutch with stairs, a few normal rooms & little run around areas, an eating area, a toilet area where I put her litter box plus a couple of rooms to keep her warm that I lined both of and stuffed one with extra hay and put a blanket in the other, that I checked she can safely chew of course (but hopefully doesn't, and hasn't so far, but have found myself having to wash every day since I got her 3 days ago because I think she thinks it's her toilet for wee wee's, but she does use her litter box for her poos and I put the blanket inside the litter box when I take it and her inside and so far she pees in there inside, maybe I should just keep it in her litter box when it's in the hutch too.. 🙂)
I've read they don't like to be held a lot, and she covers me in poos and wee's every single time I hold her within a very short period of time! My partner can hold her for ages without a single drop of poo or wee 🙄....
We chose her because she seemed the most docile (especially compared to the Cornish Rex's!!) not to mention when I picked her up I just had this feeling she was the one and I was meant to take her home. I think we all get that feeling when we find the one for us. (She is far from docile I have discovered by the way 😂)
I will have to share some photos and start learning my way around so I can see all the photos of everybody else's little furry friends and the advice they have written!
I would love some information on how (if possible) I can hold her on the couch when we watch a movie or a TV show like my partner does without being covered in poos and wees! (or at all really lol...) as well as anything else I should know (which is everything!!!) I am really learning this all as I go, I just know I want her to be happy and I want to keep her happy and that is love her already!
Kindest Regards & thanks in advance!
Brett & Winter
