Sorry to anybody that's already read this (it's a copy & paste), I basically added it as a comment to my introduction but thought this was a better place to ask, here goes :
So we just introduced her a new friend (who was living with her brother so we didn't think they would have any trouble, stupid assumption.. every rabbit has its own personality)
I tried separating the enclosure into 2 so they couldn't get to each other but could sniff each other and get used to each other.
All was fine until I lowered the stairs way too soon! Winter (the current bunny - same age (8-12 weeks) - attacked the new bunny (not named yet, a boy who was being housed with Winters brother and another girl (smaller cage than mine)
I don't think I seen a food in the cage he was in originally from the owner I got him off (they are not siblings incase anybody is wondering) so maybe it was food jelousy (Winter did happen to have some parsley she was eating when he came down the stairs, her favourite)
I'm at a loss. I wanted them to bond and be best friends (and even husband and wife 💕)
I was told my best bet would be to cages next to each other so they can touch noses, but that's not currently an option. If the can't get along I'm just going to have to keep the stairs locked so they can't get to each other (I don't want to, but I also don't want to see tuffs of hair from where Winter had attached new bunny!!)
(Our little girl Winter is the white one, while our unnamed boy is the black and white 🙂 - I was informed that Winter was a dwarf lop X whilst the new little boy was just a dwarf lop)
Update : added photo of hutch they are living in
