Hi all, I'm really worried if my bunny will get better. She was a perfectly happy, healthy, loving and active house bunny before I took her to the vets on Saturday. The vet even said she was perfect. He insisted the she get the calicivirus vaccine booster and when I asked if this would make her sick he said "no, and no side effects". She became distant, lethargic, not drinking and had a high temp at one stage the next day. She also would not hop properly. Her front legs seemed limp and sore. It is now day 3 and she is better but not 100%. She is eating but not drinking, hopping around the house but still not like she used too and is laying down relaxed. She is using the toilet but her poops are not as moist as previous (due to lack of water I guess) After researching the side effetcs (with not much help from my vet mind you) the common signs are depression, sitting still, lack of appetite and limpness in the legs. Last night I had to spoon feed her water. My huge question is............ Will she get better soon if I keep up leg therapy (I.e. massages and little obstacles etc heres a great article - rabbit.org/rehabilitation-and-movement-therapy-for-your-rabbit/ ) and hand feeding her water? Or should I take her back to the vet? Thank you. Worried Bunny mum.
