Hey everyone!
I'm new to the rabbit world so I figured this would be the best place to get some friendly advice. I've been in contact with a lady near where I work for quite a while and she's been really great at answering all my questions, sending photos of the kits, giving advice etc. She has had a litter of Flemish giants, of which she's "put aside" an all black male for me. All is going according to plan with preparations on my end (got all the foods, toys, bedding, litter etc) but my friends have raised some concern about the age of the rabbits. I've seen everything from people bringing rabbits home at 3 weeks to 11 weeks so I was wondering what your take is on a flemish giant coming to a new home at 4 weeks. According to the lady who is currently caring for the rabbits, it is already independently feeding itself on hay, pellets and rabbit mix and she has not seen them suckle for a few days and on the most part are already ignoring their mother. Based on that information, what are your thoughts on bringing the rabbit home at 4 weeks of age? Should I try ask for her to hold onto them for longer or will it be alright as long as I keep the diet similar and slowly phase in a new pellet brand or hay.
Also side note, what are thoughts on pest prevention products, revolution and capstar specifically?
Sorry for the long message but really hoping you guys can help me out here!
Thanks in advance!
