Okay, so i definately know Miss bun buns MAY be pregnant again as she has started pulling fur yesterday (i’ve put a box in there that she’s happily jumping in to carry on with her nest building). I think she is only 15 days along tho. . . . her previous pregnancy turned out to be a phantom one so she just deflated on me at 31 days. Fingers crossed that this one is for real!! i’ve kept her in the bathroom since her last one in her covered cage so she dosent stress etc, i havent changed anything like food, treats etc and i feel i’m doing everything right by the books. . . Miss bun buns is no more than 8 months old and pascal is just under a year old- so their age wouldn’t affect their breeding just yet???
all info would be much appreciated =]
p.s i have a really cute pic of miss bun buns with a mouthfull of hay comming to investigate her open door but it wont let me attach it =[ sorry guys!

Was she with the male during the last phantom pregnancy at all? They can be very quick to mate. My experience has always been that they don't start fur pulling until 2-3 days before the birth so if she's 15 days that would be very early. The only thing you can do really is sit and wait, they don't get especially big until the last week either so size can be an indication.

they live in separate cages, they were together for a few hours on the 23rd of march and then they were put away. i've been googleing it and i too think she's fur pulling way too early aswell- she started pulling fur on the 16th day with the last "pregnancy". . . can these be her "practice" pregnancies before she decides when its time? haha

If you really want to breed her leave her with the male for at least a week, she may not have been on heat during those few hours annd just a phantom because she was with him. A male will mate repeatedly whether the female is on heat or not and a lot of times the mating stimulated her to come on heat so it's best if you leave them together for a while.

i'll keep on trying, if the 3rd attempt is unsuccessful. . . i'm thinking i'll get her checked to see if she has been "altered" without my knowledge. . . .
on the next attempt i'll leave her with the buck for a week, this is very strange and where does the saying "breeds like a rabbit" come in? =[

Maybe she has ovarian cysts or something?

Also, who could have altered her? She's purebred yeah?

we've been told shes purebred, she was with an old friend before we got her and they ended up giving her to us (to move interstate) as she meant the world to them and they didn't want her to go to someone they didn't know.

Believe me once they start they do breed like rabbits, Attitude was an absolute shocker when I had Butters and would break down her cage to let him in everytime she was on heat (when she wasn't she was happy to just chat through the wire) she managed to do it about 3 times and had the most beautiful babies. You just need to make sure they are together when she's on heat and as long as they are both fertile you should be fine.
