reading this I have had a panic attack. I have a bunny that has stripped my eggplant plant leaves. I have had the bunny for three days and he has the run of my yard. I have read that rabbits will try a little taste of food and wait for a Few hours to see if they are okay before going back to try some more. They will then often try some more if were okay and not sick after the first taste test and then wait another day to see how they are. If unwell they won't eat that again, but of ok they will help themselves. I found this very interesting because I noticed my bunny have a nibble at the eggplant leaves and walk away on the first night he was at home. I thought "oh good, my eggplants are safe.". The next day he had more of a chomp, but not a lot. It is day three and my eggplant plant leaves have been stripped. My bunny is ok at the moment. Are eggplant leaves poisonous to bunny's?? should I be worried?

Great advice! Thank you for your recommendations for rabbit food. I have heard that Timothy Hay and Alfalfa Hay are considered the best primary food for rabbits. I did a little research on Timothy Hay and wanted to share it with you guys.
Timothy hay is a less fattening type of food for rabbits than alfalfa hay. Timothy hay is especially known for its:
Ease on the digestive systems of small animals Low protein content Low calcium content High fiber content Low moisture that keeps the hay from rotting
Timothy hay is grown at high altitudes, resulting in an environment of cool night temperatures, low humidity and limited rainfall. All of these components work together to create a hay crop that allows the plant to take the energy it accumulates and turn it into growth in less time. This results in a type of hay that provides great food for rabbits because it is much more nutritious per inch of growth. When researching and purchasing hay, you may often hear the term “first cut” of timothy hay.
Here is a like to this site I found If anyone wants to take a further look into Timothy or Alfalfa Hay. They allow you to order it on site as well if your interested.
